Colin Haley shows his enthusiasm to be enjoying a great day in the mountains. This view is near 17,000 feet on Denali's west buttress.
Shoveling snow off the tent during a grim storm at 14,300' on Denali's west buttress route. Strong storms high on the mountain can bring winds ranging from 60-100 miles per hour, and snowfalls measured in meters. This storm left over 6 feet (2 meters) of snow in only 30 hours!
The Ruth Glacier and it's Great Gorge from the south. Denali stands in the distance, nearly two miles higher than the peaks in the foreground.
